God has a universal plan that has been in process from the beginning, in which He so mercifully included this ministry. The ministry is especially grateful for the late Bishop P. H. Jefferson (California) and the late Bishop J. H. Morris (Adel), both of whom He used, along with Sister Edna Pitts, to inspire and encourage the launch of his work. Beginning in a small building in Sparks (GA) in March of 1983, we labored there for three years before the Lord inspired our heart to build a new building in Adel in 1986. God blessed us to complete this construction in 1988. The ministry became Holy Community Church of God in Christ in 1989.
With faith, humility, and much hard work, we were blessed to move into our larger building (on Seventh Street) in 1997. God also enabled us to acquire an independent charter as Holy Community Church in 2008, and He has continuously increased the work to its present state. Today this ministry includes a vibrant and thriving youth ministry, weekly men’s and women’s auxiliaries, a crossroads (recovery and maintenance) program, marriage counseling, a newly developed scholarship program, a food pantry, a monthly sewing class, a second church in Quitman, GA, and a third assembly in Nashville, GA.
Our doors are open every Sunday morning at 8:00 for prayer, Bible study and worship services (including afternoon auxiliary meetings). Bible study and prayer are held at noon throughout the week.
You are always welcome to share with us as the Holy Spirit leads. Appreciative of the love and support from all our members and friends in this divine endeavor, we humbly press forward in faith to be the best we can be in HIM. Overseer George B. Horne, Mother Louise Horne
